Oby Nwaogbe, President/CEO of Oby1 Productions was born to Nigerian parents in Washington DC. Her father is an Attorney based in Nigeria, and her mother is a high school English teacher in Washington DC.
Oby's parents took her back to Nigeria at age 6, where she had the privilege to learn the Nigerian culture and way of life. At 8, Oby was writing school plays, and appeared in various TV shows for kids. Her love for making great TV continued to grow, and by the time she was in high school, her calling was clear. Upon returning to the U.S. to finish high school, she wrote an award winning play that was performed at the Arena Stage in Washington DC, entitled, "Journey To Hell".
Oby then went on to Montgomery Community College, Rockville, MD where she graduated with an Associate Degree in TV & Radio Production, and from Howard University Washington DC, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sociology.
